CS2 reads the Profile Name from your Steam profile. Copy one option below, place it in that field, then open a match or the scoreboard to see the result before relying on a blank-looking name.

Check before you paste
Where CS2 gets your name
- Open Steam and select your name in the top bar, then choose Profile.
- Choose Edit Profile and find Profile Name near the top of the form.
- Copy one candidate from the list and replace the Profile Name with it. Do not edit the Steam account name.
- Save Changes, reopen your profile, then launch CS2 and check the scoreboard or a lobby.
- If CS2 shows a square, a visible mark, or the old name, restore a readable Profile Name before playing.
Steam can save a profile name differently from how CS2 draws it. A saved blank in the browser or client is not proof that it stays blank in the match; check the game surface before you keep it.
This change follows your Steam profile outside CS2 as well. Keep a short visible fallback ready so you can restore your name without hunting for a console command that does not own the profile field.
