Where to paste a blank in WhatsApp

1. Choose the destination first: a temporary Status, the About line in your profile, or one message in a chat.
2. For a text Status, open Updates, tap Add status, choose the pencil, paste one blank, and send it. A Status disappears after 24 hours.
3. For your About, open Settings, tap your profile photo, choose About, then paste one blank and set the duration offered by the app.
4. For a message, open a private chat, paste once in the message field, and look at the preview before you send.
5. If a blank becomes a visible box or disappears, stop there and use a normal message or About instead of repeating it in a group.

Status and About are different places. Status is a temporary update; About sits on your profile and can have a duration. The compatibility table records the checked field separately, so do not carry one result into the other.

A copied blank is best checked in a private chat before it reaches a group. If you need to replace a Status, WhatsApp requires a new update rather than an edit to the one already shared.
