Arabic name in Identity V

Arabic-style letters mixed into a latin stub for the Identity V display nick. Some clients draw them, some reverse them, some tofu. Private preview first.

Test in Identity V before you confirm

The rename field counts 14. Each letter you paste is one — kana, hangul, Arabic and ツ included.

The wiki notes that most special characters cannot be pasted from the clipboard. If paste dies, type the character. First Change Name is free; later screens show Inspirations.

Arabic joins letters. If the field keeps U+200C (zero-width non-joiner), you can split a join. If save fails, stop stacking more joining letters.

In Identity V, open the person icon at top-right, File tab, wrench, Change Name. If clipboard paste fails, type the character. Stay inside 14.
Paste once. Do not confirm yet. Watch the field for two seconds.
Letters vanish, the field shakes, or Confirm stays off: that client refused the script. Do not pay. Walk the fallback list below.
If the letters stay, read the counter, then confirm once. Check the Identity V lobby list and a friend’s phone before another rename.
A box on someone else’s screen is their font. An empty slot after save means the filter stripped the letters after Confirm.

If Arabic will not sit in the field

Arabic is right-to-left. Some clients reverse the cluster. If the nick looks backwards, mix fewer Arabic letters into the latin stub.
Preview in a private lobby or Saved Messages before a public rename. Tofu on a friend’s phone is their font; a failed save is the filter.
Still refused: latin stub plus one letter, then marks only. Do not stack more joining letters into a field that already said no.

Will this change my account id?

No. Display nick only. The login and the numbered id stay.

Does Identity V accept Arabic?

Paste in a private lobby or Saved Messages first. If Confirm fails, mix fewer Arabic letters into the latin stub. A box on a friend’s phone is their font, not a reason to spend another rename yet.
